What’s new with the Ford Ranger sports special edition in Australia?

Australia is renowned for being the most extreme sports nation in the world. The Ford Ranger lineup in Australia has grown with the launch of an all-new Sport Special. 

This version has been revised from the XLS and XLT 4×4 series. Ford declared its starting price at 52,940 AUD (USD 37,193) with manual transmission or 55,140 AUD (USD 38,739) with automatic transmission.

An extra 6,000 AUD (4,215 USD) worth more than the XLS, you get an American pick-up with new sportier features and additional safety technologies. As a result , the new Ranger Sport Special Edition comes with True Red exterior paint choices, paired with meteor steel, arctic ice, polished black and metallic aluminium.

The look compares with the black barbecue, the rear mirror cladding and the door handles are both black. In addition , Ford also fitted the Sport edition with 17-inch alloy wheels bigger than the 16-inch XLS. It also has a matte black sports body kit and a cargo cage, side pieces as standard, a black rear bumper and a “Sport” rear decal.

Ford Ranger is a special edition for Australian outdoor fans

Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian identification, lane keeping assistance with lane exit alert and driver alarm, traffic signal recognition. Both safety technology and specifications for the Ranger Sport variant are automatic high-beam headlights.

This version of Ford Ranger uses the remote start and go command. According to the manufacturer, the “heart” variant of Sport is a 3.2-liter TDCi diesel engine, producing 147 horsepower (200 hp) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque. This model offers 2 manual or automatic transmission options with a towing capability of up to 3,500 kg.
